Bursary Awards 2018

The ISDH, in association with Dental Health Foundation and DeCare are glad to offer four awards in 2018.

We are glad to be in a position to offer a range of bursaries this year, thanks to the continuing support of the Dental Health Foundation and DeCare. Winners will be given an opportunity to share their work at the summer conference in June 2018 and will be offered support from the ISDH committee to submit for publication in the Journal of Disability and Oral Health, where suitable.

June Nunn Innovation Prize 2018

The society is delighted to announce the June Nunn Prize for 2018. The June Nunn Prize will be awarded for a Service Innovation or Development in the area of Special Care Dentistry. This is kindly sponsored by DeCare.

Annual Special Care Dental Care Professional (DCP) Award

The society will award €350 to the best essay, case-report or completed project on any aspect of Special Care Dentistry by a dental nurse, hygienist, oral health promoter or other non-dental healthcare professional.

Student/ Newly Qualified Professional Award

The society will award €300 to the best essay, case-report or completed project on any aspect of Special Care Dentistry by an undergraduate student or a newly qualified dental professional in the island of Ireland .

Biennial Dental Health Foundation Travel Bursary

This travel bursary will assist with the cost of attending the Biennial Congress of the International Association of Disability and Oral Health in DUBAI, UAE in late August 2018 in order to make a scientific oral or poster presentation. The value of the prize is €700 and one prize is available. This award is funded by the Dental Health Foundation.
